Edgworth Village Institute Bowling Club

Edgworth Village Institute Bowling Club was founded in 1900 and has continued its existence ever since. The Green is part of the facilities of the Institute which at the turn of the century had a cricket field, bowling green, maze, lawn tennis courts, outdoor swimming baths, woodland walk, boating lake, quoits pitch, and croquet lawn. The Institute is the centre of village activities with library, billiards room, parish council office, coffe room, main hall for dances and other large functions. Unfortunately the only remaining outdoor facilities still in use are the Cricket Field and the Bowling Club. The Green is 45 yards square and is self managed by the members. The Club hosts open competitions as well as members only competitions. We host the local schhool children on the Green every Friday afternoon throughout the summer.
