Silksworth Bowls Club

Silksworth Bowls Club was originally created by miners of Silksworth Colliery and was focal point of sport and recreation for the local mining community for decades and has continued to provide a warm and friendly welcome to all bowlers from the experienced to the complete novice. The club plays in 3 Sunderland and District leagues, The Earl Cup played on a Monday evening, The Swan Cup played on a Wednesday evening and the The Harold Howey Trophy played on a Thursday evening. We also play in the Grindon League played on a Friday evening. The club is currently going through a very successful period in all of the leagues, and individually in at county and national level.
