- Avon County SMBC was formed in July 1993. Avon is a separate SMBA from Somerset and from Gloucestershire. The association currently has 19 affiliated clubs. Members play in league teams or for the county as well as playing purely socially.

- Buckinghamshire Short Mat Bowling Association is the recognised governing body for the sport of Short Mat Bowls in the county of Buckinghamshire in England. The B.S.M.B.A. is affiliated to the English Short Mat Bowls Association (E.S.M.B.A.) who govern the sport at National Level. The Association has a membership of more than 460 individual members, and currently comprises three leagues within the South Bucks region, these being the Bucks Single Mat League, the South Bucks League and The Aylesbury Vale Friendly Short Mat League. Within these leagues there are 19 Clubs with a further 6 clubs not playing in any specific league. New players are always welcome in any of these clubs, as are beginners who would like to learn the game of Short Mat Bowls.

- Short Mat Bowls has been played in East Sussex since the early 1980s and is a game which can be played by people of all ages whether able bodied or less able. The game is played on portable mats of some 45 feet by 6 feet and in this County is mainly played in village halls.

- Herefordshire Short Mat Bowling Association is the recognised governing body of the sport in Herefordshire. It is affiliated to the English Short Mat Bowls Association (ESMBA)and enters the Inter County Competitions (ICC) with both Premier and 'A' Teams each year. There are 17 registered clubs in the County and 14 clubs play in the two County League Divisions over the winter season.
